Fiber Federal Credit Union Supports Hospitals and Colleges Through Communities First Program | Local

The Food Farmacy program at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center is a 2021 beneficiary of Fiber Federal Credit Union’s Communities First program. The FFP helps address patient food insecurity by providing post-discharge meal support, dietary education and counseling, and links to stable food access through community resources, according to a statement from credit union press. FFP received $ 5,000 from FFCU for the program.

The credit union recently renewed multi-year sponsorship of some community colleges and hospitals in the seven counties of Washington and Oregon it serves, according to the press release.

FFCU places a high priority on supporting education and health care services in its communities. As a result, this mission became the Community First program in 2018.

Since its inception, the credit union has donated $ 87,000 to Communities First beneficiaries, including eight hospital foundations and four college foundations. With the renewal of the program from 2021 to 2023, Fiber Federal is committing to distribute an additional $ 87,000 to these community foundations, the statement noted.
